Born of a tryst between star-crossed lovers, Warden is a man caught between two worlds—one of which he knows frighteningly little. In an effort to understand the world his father hails from, he serves as a shamanistic medium for the material plane. It's a line of work which he rarely finds enjoyable, but it affords him a surprisingly comfortable living; if a little lonely. His aloof exterior hides a passionate, mercurial core within.

PERSONALITY: Comes off as withdrawn, but not inherently unfriendly. Uncomfortable around unfamiliar people, especially men; stemming from a poor relationship with his father. Gets along remarkably well with children and animals.

HYBRID THEORY: Warden's air elemental heritage grants him a unique physiology, one that is split between the natural processes of a human body and air elemental. For example, where a normal air elemental does not require organs to facilitate breathing, Warden still has and requires his lungs. On the flip side, Warden lacks a human heart. Processes that would rely on that organ instead use his elemental core. Warden is also far and above the average human in terms of endurance, durability and especially speed.

STORMBORN: At the center of Warden's being lies a dense, metal lump originating from the elemental plane of air called an elemental core. Not unlike a normal heart, it pulses with a rhythmic beating that—much like a normal heart pumps blood—pumps an electric current throughout his body. Warden has total control of this electric current, and can even intensify the voltage at will. Increasing the upper limit of this voltage requires Warden to exert himself physically to facilitate a faster, stronger tempo. He is currently unsure what the actual ceiling for his output is, and is hyper-vigilant about keeping it under control. Warden is also acutely aware of electrical sources nearby, including but not limited to instances even as minute as action potential in the brain.

FAEDAR: Due to Warden's literal attachment to an immaterial plane, he has a proclivity for noticing things that aren't completely natural. From bombastic details like an abundance of mana to intentionally illusory magic, Warden is capable of pin-pointing supernatural phenomena and creatures regardless of how well hidden they are. Unfortunately, this awareness comes as the cost of his own anonymity, often alerting these supernatural creatures to his presence well before he notices them. Over the years he has learned to curtail his arcane footprint to a certain extent, but his arrival is still by no means a stealthy one.

To most elementals, the idea of siring a mortal child is a joke. An unfortunate byproduct of debauchery on the mortal planes. And in the event they do have a mortal child, they dare not raise it themselves—or even acknowledge their existence. They carry on with their long lives, to which a mortal life seems like the blink of an eye. Seldom do they think of their mortal offspring as anything more than mistakes, and only a fool would regard one as their legitimate child. Aethon, the Gentle Breeze, was one such fool. And in his foolishness, he found a peace that no elemental had ever known—and no elemental would know since.
