Marisa Kirisame, the Ordinary Magician

image_transcoder.php?o=sys_images_editor&h=1916&dpx=1&t=1716046924

More than often seen hanging around Reimu at the Hakurei Shrine. Best friends with Reimu, and often the one who has to prod the shrine maiden to actually investigate the incidents around Gensokyo. She's susceptible to her own boredom and constantly looks for something to do. As Reimu is a bit of a genius who doesn't have to try very hard to get stronger, Marisa is the opposite, a hard-worker through and through and whenever she's not with Reimu she's most likely researching ways to improve her magic so she's able to keep up, though she hides her hard-working nature under her carefree attitude, and would likely not admit to it. Often stealing from others under the guise of borrowing it for her craft, and since most of those she steals from have seemingly infinite lifespans, she says she'll just keep it until the day of her death.

The Witch of Scarlet Dreams

Marisa Kirisame from an alternate reality. In this world, she was the center of the Lost Word incident, an event that couldn't be resolved until it's found what word went missing from this world. And in this case, it was "Marisa Kirisame". For 1000 years, she was known only as the Witch of Scarlet Dreams, found at the top of the Scarlet Devil Tower. 1000 years ago, while she and Reimu were challenging Remilia, the Scarlet Devil herself, Marisa lost to Reimu and had to leave it to her to challenge Remilia. While watching the battle of bullets, she was approached by a mysterious figure taking the shape of her future self, the Witch of Scarlet Dreams. This mysterious figure told her that if she didn't do something drastic, she would be unable to keep up with Reimu and eventually lose her. At first she didn't believe it, but the more they spoke the more Marisa felt her lingering doubts reawaken, and she faltered. To gain immeasurable power, she had to give up her name and something most precious to her. For the sake of gaining the power to remain at Reimu's side, Reimu was erased from the world, and heat shot out from Marisa's body as she screamed.

It took 1000 years for her wish to bear fruit, when Reimu from another world came to resolve the incident, and recovering her name. She climbed to the top of the tower that reached all the way to the moon, and faced the Witch head-on. With a little help, they managed to cut off a huge portion of the Witch's power so she didn't have to go out of control and take the world down with her, and more than anything she was happy to see Reimu again, even if it wasn't hers. They had an honest battle to finish things off, and Reimu had her suspicions that this world's Reimu had been whisked away to yet another world, so she promised to bring her back. The Witch of Scarlet dreams promised she would help rebuild the damage she had done in the meantime.

Marisa Kirisame from a world where the Hakurei Shrine is an academy! She's mostly the same old Marisa in a separate setting, where all the denizens of Gensokyo attend school regardless of age and position.

Lunar War Enchanter

Marisa Kirisame from a world where they've had their powers sealed away, and had to fight on the moon base with alternative means. She's largely the same as always, though due to the dire straits they live in, she's primarily less mischievous, though primarily for the reasons stated rather than a change in personality. She's still playful when she has room to be, and cares deeply for her friends.
