Dragon Princess of Dovah Suleyksejun
It was said that in ancient times, the ancient realm of Dovah Suleyksejun was a majestic land where all manner of creatures were allowed in. Guiding in by the dragon's they'd ride on to gain entrance into this realm. A realm beyond others. That had their own laws and such. A realm that was said to exist purely cause of the High Elder Dragon's presence. It gave the realm strength itself. It seemed odd to those of the outside. A realm of this size was maintained by royal dragons. Until they saw the number of them. The reason was simple, while some married and bred for love. Married and bred for alliances and such as was customary during those times. Some chose to live out a life as brood mothers. Whose primary focus was to bear offspring to maintain the realm. However, they never did it out of anything but love for their children, the realm and those that called this realm home. For all intends and purposes. This paradise was supposed to last forever, but it was not meant to be.
The power of the dragons was formidable, and it was something that instilled fear into many. Not just that, from the organs to the blood. All were priceless in the minds of the humans and some dragons have always plotted to bring the realm down for one reason or another. It was cause of this that some formed an alliance to bring the realm down and force the dragons to flood back to their own realms and worlds and sadly it had worked. As one by one, the dragons and elder dragons were being slaughtered and were forced to flee the realm. It was pure Chaos. Only the High Elder Dragon's stood a chance against the onslaught, but despite how strong they were. They were being slaughtered one by another. All hope was thought to be lost right then and there.
However, those that were being slaughtered. Those that were fleeing. Those that were invading. All of them had forgotten about an ancient Legend of the High Elder that claimed this land whose power was said to rival even the heavens themselves. His dying words. "One day, Dovah Suleyksejun will be threatened to be destroyed. Our proud High Elders pushed to the brink of extinction, but during that time. There will be an unborn child that will house power akin to my own. That child will be the only one that can save this realm. Protect that child. For that child will be the only one that can save it and all of dragon kind."
All had forgotten the ancient legend and at the time of the invasion. The current Empress of Dovah Suleyksejun was pregnant with children and one of them was Nyrverth. Who someone was conscience enough to know what was going on. So, from within her belly, she made a move. A wave of pure dragonic energy tore from her and was scattered throughout the entire realm. However, the only ones who were affected by this were those invading. The moment it hit them. Their bodies began to crumble into dust. At that same moment, the Empress had gone into labor.
She had stopped the invasion, but the damage was done, and the realm was starting to crumble away. Now they only had one choice and that was to flee from the realm before they crumbled along with it. Leaving the Empress alone as she gave birth to her children. However, in an act of a miracle. In that moment, the realm not only stopped crumbling, but began to repair itself. Even though it would take countless eons for the damage to be restored. Sadly, the realm was now vacant aside from them. So, the Empress did the only thing she could. She had forgotten the legend but did remember it. She closed the entry into the realm. So, none could ever enter. That decision would leave her and her children alone until the time came when the empress would hand over the realm to her daughter Nyrverth. Who she knew would rule the realm justly and birth the strongest of the High Elders that ever set forth in this age or any. She just had no idea how right she would be.
Thousands of years would pass by then as the children grew with their mother. The gate never once opened, but the realm was being kept stable due to the remaining high elders, but Nyrverth felt that things couldn't go on like this forever. Especially when as she looked upon her mother. She could tell just how lonely she truly was. It was a loneliness they all certainly felt. Nyrverth was told the story and understood what had happened and she was made the crown princess. Therefore, the crown to the throne of the realm was hers in due time. So, she made a suggestion to her mother and siblings.
Open up the gate, in a brand-new area and construct a fortress with a city around it. To bring people back, but to also protect the gate itself. Where she herself would command until the time came for her to take the throne of Dovah Suleyksejun. All entering the gate would have to be screened by a high elder. Meaning her and her siblings. It was a suggestion that the Empress agreed on. After all, she knew they had to do something.
Therefore, Nyrverth was permitted to open the gate and in due time. A grand fortress and city were built. However, word was never realized that Dovah Suleyksejun had opened up again. The world was far different, and it was Nyrverth that decided to set foot into the world. To learn of the world and find those to bring back. To rebuild the paradise, they once had.
What is a High Elder Dragon?
A hierarchy of dragons exist beyond what is commonly known when it comes to any breed of dragon. There are dragon's who are typically dragons that are not able to shift at all Following that are what are known as Elder Dragon's. These are dragons that have evolved to the point that they are able to shit between a humanoid form and their dragon selves. Even an Anthro form they can access. One thing to note is that unless they go into an Anthro form, for some reason they are not able to shit out their wings and can often be mistaken as lizardmen at times. For the majority of dragon kind, that is as far as they can go. There is typically different version of Elder Dragons. There is a breed of dragon above them through and most times. Unless a ritual is performed, they were never reaching this level. For one is born into it. High Elder. Plain and simple, these are Royal Dragons whose power far surpass the rest of dragon kind. Some are often worshipped as gods even. One would have to marry into the royal family and go through a ritual in order to become one. Normally at least. There are some exceptions to this. They are able to freely shift and can even shift out their wings. Among many other things they are capable of. They are at the top and the moment a dragon, or any species discovers they are high elder. Most of the time they grovel or curry favor.
How is Nyrverth Different from other High Elders?
Nyrverth is actually the reincarnation of the first High Elder that founded Dovah Suleyksejun. It isn't known if the founder was a male, female or in between at all. She carries akin to the same power that they had. Although, not as much currently due to her age. Meaning she is significantly more power than other high elders or any other dragon. She could destroy an entire nation in a single night if she so chose to. She also has a great reservoir of mana. Allowing her to learn and master probably any sort of magic. She also happens to have a very high fertility. It won't take much for her to become pregnant, although she doesn't know this yet. She was born to save Dovah Suleyksejun and dragon-kind, she just isn't aware of how she was meant to.
