"To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower. Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour" -Sacrament of the mortuary cult
The gods of Egypt walk the mortal realm, guiding their chosen people forward on the divine path, each holding dominion over the natural order as they were meant to. Ra pulls the sun in his gilded chariot, Thoth gifted mankind with language and the knowledge to forge the world into a place of their own, and Anubis cared to the dead and dying. As the god of the dead, and supreme mortician, Anubis' craft is not set towards creation or to tending to life, but rather the end of it. Within the great walls of his pyramidion palace, he and his followers preserve the dead as they were in life with all their valuables, to be sent to the scales where he shall weigh their hearts against a feather of truth. This is his divine task, and he has performed it since the first man walked the earth. He is a god with animal characteristic much like his other sisters and brothers, a body closely resembling a very large and tall man, but the head of a black jackal. He walks adorned in jewels and gold fit for a king, much like the other divine beings on this earth, similar to them too, he has his own cult of close followers and confidants.
The mortuary cult are his flock, his followers, made up from the terminally ill, dying, and those whose death is close, his followers are more acutely aware of the sanctity of death, and that it must be upheld. Each day within the holy city, at dusk his followers parade the entombed dead through the city, laid within their elaborate sarcophagi. Leading them is Anubis himself, leading chants and hymns to guide their souls to the afterlife and to peace, or damnation should the scales deem it so.
He welcomes followers not of the dying and sick, though it is far more rare. Most of these followers are hand picked for certain skills they may have, surgeons for expert embalming, cooks to feed his others followers, or even a mortal to keep him company in the late hours of the evening should he find one suitable.

some people are so odd, why accept an add if you don’t want to even attempt to create a story together?
