Knowing your Post Length and what it means.
Knowing your Average posting length is vital!
Roleplayers are Separated by several degrees, the common way to determine level is sentence count. Which This site uses.
- To figure out Where one sits look at your last 5 responses (Opening scenes DO NOT COUNT)
- Count the number of sentences. Average the amount of sentences in each post.
- that number is the level that you are currently sitting at.
- When you select your writing level, consider picking the LOWEST level of partner you will accept. This way you are not excluding possible partners.
The Common break down of writing levels are;
- One-liner - 1 to 2 Sentences on average.
- Semi-Para - 3-7 Sentences.
- Para - 7-12 Sentences
- Multi -para - 13-25 Sentences
- Novella = 25+ Sentences.
This is a rough estimate- The range is generalized.
So... What do these different styles look like in practice, and how does one move from one to the other? The devil is in the details. The more you paint a picture saying the why, going over the emotions and the drives the thoughts and the actions the more interesting and longer the text will get naturally.

Paragraph:
He let out a primal scream, his frustration boiling over as he lashed out at the nearest object: a sturdy tree. His axe bit deep into the bark, tearing through it with satisfying ease. Again and again he struck, each blow more furious than the last, as if he could tear the tree apart with his bare hands. Sweat dripped from his brow, mingling with the tears streaming down his face. The village itself was nestled deep in the mountains, a collection of ramshackle huts huddled together for warmth against the harsh winter winds. The air was crisp and clean, but it did little to alleviate the hunter's mood. He had searched high and low for his horse, calling out its name until his voice was hoarse. Yet, there was no sign of it anywhere. The tracks he had followed led him to believe that it had been taken by someone or something. A wild animal, perhaps? Or worse, a rival hunter seeking to sabotage his reputation?
He let out another primal scream, unable to contain his anger any longer. Tears streamed down his face as he stomped his feet, kicking up clouds of dust around him. Without another thought, he turned and hurled his axe at the nearest object: a thick tree stump. The axe buried itself deep into the wood with a satisfying thud. The hunter pulled it free, feeling a brief surge of satisfaction course through his veins. He spun around, searching for another target for his anger, his eyes falling upon a nearby sapling.
