When Kubfu has a maxed out friendship with its trainer and completes the Dark Tower to learn the Single Strike technique it evolves into the Dark type version of Urshifu, which uses prioritizes power and single hit attacks over the Rapid Strike Style of the Water Tower which prioritizes defense and multiple quick attacks. Though because of the types applied to both, the Water type has more weaknesses than Dark Type which only has a few, and still it has moves available to deal with its counters better than the Water type.
