Kino is just a normal traveler with a particular ruleset, going from country to country with their sentient motorrad, (note: a two-wheeled vehicle, only to note that it cannot fly) Hermes, as their only traveling partner. Their particular rule is to never stay in one country for more than three days. This is the perfect time to understand a country's qualities, as well as avoiding lingering for too long. A more personal reason for Kino is to not get attached.
Because traveling on your own means dangers aplenty, Kino is equipped to deal with most unforeseen circumstances, whether that is mortal danger, hunger, or otherwise. Sometimes you have to be ready to take a life to save your own. More than anything, Kino simply wants to keep on living as a traveler.
