Legends of the Minotaur race are wildly known throughout the world, known to guard old ancient ruins or temples for some long dead god or master. Other than their ferocity in battle and how territorial they are, not much else is known of them. While most Minotaur's live their lives guarding treasure, very rarely some do abandon their duties to live on the surface. This is exactly what happened when a large group of Minotaur's appeared on the surface to live there over a hundred years ago. This new tribe of Minotaur's seem content with keeping to themselves and staying out of the affairs of the other races, rarely they will allow trade, but those allowed to are warned if they betray the race either way they will be killed.
Jarnir is a second generation born Minotaur on the surface his last name Boulderfist was given to him due to his ability to mix earth magic with martial combat, those who get hit by his fists equate it to being hit by a large boulder, thus his namesake. He is pretty calm for a Minotaur, who are known for their stubbornness and quick to anger if they feel slighted.
Recently, the elders of his tribe have made a decision that the Minotaur should not remain isolated any longer. The world is full of evil and conflict and while they have managed on their own for now their numbers are infinite and one day, they may come upon an adversary they cannot handle alone. With the future of the Minotaur race in mind, the elders would send the younger ones like Jarnir out to explore the world, make contact with the other races and hopefully create alliances that will benefit all.
Now the Minotaur have been released out into the world, whether for better or worse has yet to be seen. They are just now making their place in the world who they will ally with and fight against is to be determined, needless to say many races and kingdoms are eager to have such a powerful race on their side.
