Personality: Shy, introverted, altruistic and above all else; heroic, Izuku Midoriya was born to be a hero. From a young age he'd always had the desire to help people, make them smile and protect them. He always sees the best in people even when they are horrible to him or even straight up evil. Deep down he has tons of repressed anger and insecurities about being quirkless and whenever push comes to shove he will fight even when his body is broken to save a life. Admittedly he is not that great with women and is very oblivious but he understands people on a deep emotional level and that is what makes him endearing to others despite how plain he looks and carries himself. He is also the worlds BIGGEST All Might fanboy and quirk lover, often going on tangents and rants about how quirks work and he tends to mutter a lot.
Backstory/History:
Born into a world where 80% of the population are bless with super powers, Izuku Midoriya had always dreamed of being a hero like his one and only idol, the symbol of peace; All Might. He dreamed of one day being a great hero who saved people with a smile just like his hero; however that dream was shattered when at age 5 he learned that he was quirkless and would never develop a super power like his mother or father. This was devastating to a young Izuku, so much so that his mother Inko developed and eating disorder over her guilt, feeling she is the reason her baby had no powers and without his father around; she was forced to raise Izuku herself. It wasn't all bad though, his mother was a kind, caring and compassionate woman who would do anything to make her son happy and it helped that even though his father was absent, he still sent them money from overseas every month and anything extra was used to essentially spoil Izuku with as much All Might merch as possible.
At age 5 was also when his relationship with his childhood best friend Katsuki Bakugo turned sour and the boy he once called his friend, became his greatest bully. For 10 years Izuku would continue on quirkless but still held the hope that maybe, just maybe even without a quirk he could someday be a hero. He kept dozens of notes on different quirks and strategies on how to use and defeat them and even developed a skill at drawing and designing to an extent due to his neurotic nature which often only made the bullying worse but he at least had comfort knowing that his mom had faith in him and she always encouraged him, even if sometimes he could tell she was forcing herself too. Being a hero was not always as glamorous as the news made it seem and she didn't want her baby to get hurt but at the same time, he always would rush in to save or help anyone in need without even thinking because at his heart and core, Izuku was born to be a hero.
Then one day while traveling home from school as per usual, he was attacked by a mass of sludge that tried to take his body and in that moment he begged for anyone to come save him and as fate would have it, All Might himself showed up and smashed the villain with no effort and saved the young Midoriya and even signed his notebook which Izuku to this day keeps as a family heirloom. After that meeting, Izuku asked All Might one important question "Can I be a hero like you without a quirk?" and All Might's repsonse was one that didn't knew was likely but was hoping his idol wouldn't tell him; telling him that to be a hero one requires power to enact their will and without some form of power it would be suicidal to be a hero and advised against it, telling Izuku he can be a hero in more ways than just fighting the bad guys.
After that moment though, Izuku would prove All Might wrong by dashing into danger to save someone who probably wouldn't have tried to save him and after the villain is defeated by All Might, the symbol of peace makes an offer to the young boy, telling him that he needs a successor and that he had chosen HIM. Izuku was beside himself and had broken down crying as he accepted the offer, finally at long last he could achieve his dream and become a hero. Though it would require a ton of work and catching up and after 9 grueling months of intense physical training, Izuku Midoriya would receive his new quirk: ONE FOR ALL.
