B-Komachi「「Ｂ小町」?」 is an idol group affiliated with Ichigo Production, Inc. The group has two incarnations, sharing the same name.
The original incarnation consisted of Ai Hoshino and three other members. After more than ten years of activity, it disbanded two years after Ai's death, which was its ace and center.
Its current incarnation has three members: Ruby Hoshino, Kana Arima and Mem-Cho.
Ruby Hoshino「星ほし野の瑠る美び衣い, Hoshino Rubii?」, more commonly referred to as just Ruby「ルビー, Rubī?」, is the female protagonist and one of the titular characters of Oshi no Ko. In her previous life, she was known as Sarina Tendouji, a terminally ill patient who was cared for by Gorou Amamiya and, following her death, was reincarnated as the child of her favorite idol, Ai Hoshino.
Neglected by her parents in her previous life and being a fan of Ai, she greatly enjoyed her new life, with her new mother teaching her how to be an idol from an early age. Unfortunately, this happy life ended when Ai was murdered by a deranged fan. Afterward, determined to fulfill her mother's dreams, she reformed Ai's idol group with the support of her friends.
Kana Arima「有あり馬ま かな, Arima Kana?」 is a major supporting character in Oshi no Ko. She is a childhood acquaintance of Aqua and Ruby Hoshino and a prodigious child actress, though her popularity has waned over the years. She is also the center of the revived idol group B-Komachi.
Though talented, she eventually got fewer jobs due to being difficult to work with, causing her to change her acting style to survive in the industry. However, after meeting Aqua and Ruby again and being recruited into B-Komachi as well as through her rivalry with Akane Kurokawa, she steadily began to undo the shackles she placed on herself.
Mem-Cho「MEMめむちょ, Memu-cho?」, real name unknown, is a major supporting character in Oshi no Ko. She is a popular Youtuber, former Tik-Toker, and a member of the revived B-Komachi.
Missing her chance at becoming an idol due to family circumstances, she nonetheless managed to become a popular streamer, with her renown securing her a spot on the reality dating show LoveForReal. Following the show's conclusion, she was finally given another shot at her dream when fellow cast member Aqua invited her to join B-Komachi, with the other members accepting her despite being far past the ripe age of an idol.
Ai Hoshino「星ほし野のアイ, Hoshino Ai?」 was the titular character and the poster child of Oshi no Ko. She was the lead idol of the original B-Komachi and mother of Aqua Hoshino and Ruby Hoshino.
As an idol, she lived a life of deceit by pretending to genuinely love her fans. After becoming pregnant with the twins, to not squander her reputation, she gave birth and raised them in secret, playing the role of both idol and mother. However, her lies inevitably caught up with her when she was fatally attacked by a disgruntled fan, using her final moments to tell her children that she loved them.
Even after her death, her influence is felt throughout the remainder of the series, with her daughter carrying on her legacy while her son devoted his life to revenge against the one who sold her out, her ex-boyfriend.
